For this activity, we will be using Problem-based Learning approach.
Objective: Students will be able to distinguish between objectivist and constructivist methods of teaching.

Objectivist vs. Constructivist
Problem: In this course, you will need to develop a constructivist lesson plan to present to the class. Today, you must do research to distinguish between objectivist (sometimes called "behaviorist" or "traditional") and constructivist methods of teaching as the first step toward developing that lesson plan.

Use these links and resources to get started with your research (you may find other information through Google searches). On your ePortfolio page (below your bio and your classwork from last week), make a list of the key characteristics of each teaching method.

When you feel as though you have a good handle on the differences, take a look at these videos and pick out instances of objectivist and constructivist methods. Link to a couple of the videos on your ePortfolio page and describe how these are instances of objectivist or constructivist (or both) teaching. Also, give some examples from your own educational experience of both objectivist and constructivist teaching.

Food for thought: How does this class activity exhibit some of the characteristics of constructivism?
